Town of Webb: A message to voters from candidate George T. Hiltebrant

I am hoping that you, the voter, will see fit to entrust me with being your councilman on election day.

A lot of you know me, but there are some who don’t. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I was born and raised in Old Forge. Upon graduating from high school I attended Norwich University, a four-year military school in Northfield, Vermont. When I graduated, I was commissioned a 2nd Lt. and entered the U.S. Army where for two years I trained Officer Candidates. Continue reading

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks installed new officers and directors for 2015–2016 during a recognition dinner held at Van Auken’s Inne on Monday, September 28th.

Officers for the program year beginning October 1, 2015 are: President – Mike Griffin, Vice President – Dee Kraft, Treasurer – Jane Slack, and Secretary – Bob Van Slyke.  Continue reading

CAP-21 hosted a gathering at Van Auken’s Inne on Wednesday, September 30 for the volunteers who assisted with this past summer’s hanging flower basket beautification project.

Webb Police Dept. reports law enforcement activity

The Town of Webb Police Department has reported the following recent law enforcement activity.

• An on-going investigation by Town of Webb Police resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old Lowville, NY woman on Tuesday, September 29 at 10 a.m.

The woman was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Continue reading

Services planned for Peter E. McCarthy II, 76

Peter E. McCarthy II, 76 of Holland Patent passed away September 29, 2015 at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare with his loving family by his side.

Peter was born November 5, 1938 in Utica to the late Peter E. and Mary Malone McCarthy. He graduated from Holland Patent School in 1956.

Peter was united in marriage to Sharon Farrell on June 19, 1965 at St. Leo’s Church in Holland Patent and were fortunate to share 50 wonderful years together. Continue reading
