Jan from Woodgate, aka Mrs. Lucky, completed her 56-year earthly journey on Tuesday, November 10th.
Plans for the trek began January 5 of this year following a terminal cancer diagnosis.
Her response to a doctor’s recommendation for treatment was, “No thank you.”
She scoffed at his suggestion that she had one to two months left without it… there were still a few things she had to do. Continue reading

First of all, there are not enough words to describe the Just My Luck book signing hosted by our wonderful Woodgate Library… so many thanks to Kathy, Sandy, and all the rest of the library friends who made this possible.

From the moment we slide out of the birth canal our brand new little bodies start incurring costs. Mass medical bills accumulate at a rapid pace, in addition to all the high-priced goods and gadgets required to bring a newbie on board.
Of course, it doesn’t end there as we parents are well aware of. I think the total cost of raising a child from birth to “get out” is somewhere around a hundred grand. Continue reading

Little towns look much different to tourists than to those who live there. As well they should if they are a tourist town, because nothing says “spend money here” like a quaint, happy, safe shop-lined street.

There are times when one would think that surprises are simply unattainable anymore.
