Don’t fall for the smear campaign against Forestport Supervisor Snead

To the Editor:

I am sick of reading slanderous allegations against Forestport’s Supervisor, Parker Snead, and his wife. The lawsuits against them are frivolous and unfounded. It is hurting our town and is a big waste of time (bet the lawyers love this nonsense). Some of these actions have been dropped and apologies made, but no mention is made of that. Continue reading

LETTER: Forestport public servants need to be efficient and responsible

To the Editor:

A Forestport Town Board member or a Town Employee has put themselves in a position of public trust. You must use your position and influence to be fiscally responsible and efficient with the limited public resources. You serve the public.

The interests of the Town must come before your own, not only in fact but also in appearance. Your actions should be above reproach. Continue reading

Candidate Stefanik brings insensitive campaigning to North Country

Elise Stefanik, a Republican candidate for Congress, recently alleged that her primary opponent “played political—and potentially fraudulent—games” during the petition process.

We, the letter writers, were offended by this accusation—because this candidate, who none of us had ever heard of nine months ago, was questioning our integrity.

Collectively, we logged hundreds of hours canvassing the 21st Congressional District collecting signatures for our candidate, Matt Doheny.  Continue reading

Dinner to benefit local youth groups, March 12

A fundraising dinner to benefit AYSO, the Kommunity Youth Activity Center (KYAC), and the Old Forge Little League program will be held at the Front Door Diner on Wednes-day, March 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. 

The menu will include $12 and $15 meal selections, eat-in or take-out, with 50 percent of sales divided equally between these three youth-oriented organizations.

Please show your support of youth programming in our community by attending the dinner.
