Services planned for William C. Hinman, 71

William Clarence Hinman, 71, of New Hartford, NY died unexpectedly on April 11, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born in Utica on February 20, 1945, a son of the late William H. and Margaret P. Hinman and was a 1963 graduate of Chadwicks Union Free School. Bill furthered his education at SUNY Delhi, graduating in 1965.

He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard, Company C, First Battalion,108th Infantry from 1965 to1971 and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant E6.

On July 8, 1975, Bill and Wanda L. Walker were united in marriage in the Willowvale Methodist Church. Continue reading

Services set for Patricia B. Buehler, 72

Patricia (Bathke) Buehler, 72, of Otter Lake, wife of Donald F. passed away suddenly at her residence on Friday, April 8, 2016.

Affectionately known as Pat, she was born in Utica, on February 2, 1944, a daughter of George and Dorothy White Bathke. She grew up in Deer-field, graduating from Whites-boro High School, with the Class of 1964. Thereafter for several years she was employed as a radio assembler at General Electric of Utica.   Continue reading

Celebration of Life set for Dave W. Van Pelt, 62

Dave W. Van Pelt, 62, of Big Moose, NY, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 26, 2016. He was born January 29, 1954, a son of Lester and Beatrice Parmalee Van Pelt in Oneida, NY.

Dave was a 1972 graduate of the Camden High School and earned an AS in Civil Technology from Mohawk Valley Community College of Utica. Continue reading

David Pylman

David S. Pylman, 54, of Oneida and formerly of Eagle Bay, died unexpectedly at his home on March 11, 2016.

He was born October 9, 1961, in Utica, a son of Clarence A. “Dutch” and Charlotte (Ellis) Pylman. He attended New Hartford and Town of Webb schools, and worked as a carpenter for various local contractors.

Dave enjoyed camping, hiking, and simply spending time in the Adirondacks.  Continue reading

Services set for Beatrice A. McNally, 91

Beatrice A. McNally,91 of Old Forge passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.

She was born on November 10, 1924 in Glens Falls, NY, the oldest of three daughters, to William and Calista (Smith) McNally, Old Forge, NY.

Bea lived with her sister (Sophia McNally Roffe) on Adams Street. She had been employed at various businesses in the Old Forge area for over seventy years. Continue reading

Memorial Mass planned for Therese M. Capone, 72

Therese M. Capone, 72, of Lakeside Terrace Apartments, Old Forge, a native and former resident of Watertown, and the former Sister Peter Marie, of the Sisters of St. Joseph’s Order of Watertown, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, after a short illness.

She was born on January 25, 1944, a daughter of Peter and Lena Geno Capone.  Continue reading

Mark Hawksley, 57, passes away

Mark Hawksley, 57, of Swannanoa, NC died quietly on Wednes-day, February 17, 2016 after a long illness. He was born Friday, September 12, 1958.

He was the son of the late Clarence Hawksley. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Hawksley; siblings, Carol Faso, Fred Hawksley, Susan Hawksley, Rick Hawksley, and Todd Hawksley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, NY. He was employed by Northern Ready Mix in NY for over 20 years. He moved to North Carolina in 2014 with friends.

Mark will be missed by his friends and family.
