Celebration of Life set for Dave W. Van Pelt, 62

Dave W. Van Pelt, 62, of Big Moose, NY, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 26, 2016. He was born January 29, 1954, a son of Lester and Beatrice Parmalee Van Pelt in Oneida, NY.

Dave was a 1972 graduate of the Camden High School and earned an AS in Civil Technology from Mohawk Valley Community College of Utica.

He was the first employee and currently the director of Way Adirondack Scenic Railroad for the past 25 years. In prior years Dave was employed in construction and railroad work.

Dave is survived by a brother, Thomas Van Pelt of Camden, NY and two cousines, William Van Pelt of Clinton, NY and Sue Meneilly of Bernhards Bay, NY. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Lester Van Pelt, Jr.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery of Camden. A Celebraton of Dave’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 24th. Details will be announced at a later date. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc. of Camden.
