Donna Myers says thank you for American Heart Walk support

IMG_20160227_120949890_HDRI would like to say thanks to all those who supported Team Zimmer in the Great American Heart Walk on Saturday, March 5th. We raised over $4,000.

We had walkers from: Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma, Kansas, Virginia, Louisiana, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and of course New York.

This year’s Walk also included a half marathon which my nephew and his friend participated in.

I would like to thank Covey Pashley Post 893 Old Forge Legion and Auxiliary, Old Forge Fire Dept and Auxiliary, Strand Theatre, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Herkimer County American Legion Auxiliary 5th District, Precision Electric, TOW Bar Inn, Back Door Bar, Gallery 3040 and all the other individuals who have supported me every year for the past 15 years.

We continue to walk in Loving Memory of my mom Midge Myers, Betty Baggason, Joan Gallup, Lou Zimmer, Jack Zimmer, Tom Smith (a cousin in Indiana), John Hopsicker, Dan Hitchcock, Dave Pylman, and in honor of Terry Cataldo, Ken Engler, Bill Phelan, John Beckingham, and so many more who cannot do the walk.

We were told that Heart Disease has moved from the number one killer to number 3, while Stroke is still at number 5.

If you meant to donate and put it off, it is not too late. You can send a check to me made payable to the American Heart Association and mail it to:  P.O. Box 976, Old Forge, NY  13420.

Sincerely,

Donna Myers, Old Forge
