34th annual event Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors opens Aug. 7

An opening reception for the 34th annual Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Water-colors will be held at VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, on Friday, August 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments and light fare will be specially prepared by Town of Webb graduate and executive sous chef of the Club at Olde Cyprus, Naples, FL, Justin Connerty.

“The Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors is the crowning jewel of VIEW’s summer season, drawing artists and art appreciators from across the country,” said Cory Card, VIEW’s exhibitions manager. Continue reading

Gun Show and Adirondack Expo returns to Old Forge pavilion on August 1 and 2

The New Eastcoast Arms Collectors Associates, Inc. (NEACA) will host a Gun Show and Adirondack Expo at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street in Old Forge on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2.

This will be the eighth time NEACA President David Petronis and his partner and wife, Cathy, have hosted the local show at the GTH Center since 2009. Continue reading

String Trio to perform at Woodgate Chapel

The Magendanz String Trio will be performing during the regular worship service of the Woodgate Chapel on Sunday, August 9. The program will include works by Mozart, Beethoven and Hayden, among others.

The Reverend James Ulrich will conduct the worship. The program begins at 10:15 a.m. The chapel is located on Rt. 28 immediately south of the blinking light in Woodgate. All are welcome.
