Musikgarten: Gwen Tracy to take helm at local preschool educational program

Adirondacks: DEC prohibits open burning until May 15th

With the start of spring and warmer temperatures expected, the state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) reminds New Yorkers that residential brush burning in towns with less than 20,000 residents is prohibited in the state through May 14.

Webb UFSD: Kindergarten registration starts March 30

Registration for children eligible to enroll in next September’s kindergarten class will take place from March 30 through April 24, 2015.

DEC issues improvement draft for Alger Island, Fourth Lake launch

New York State has announced that it is looking to improve the public facilities at the Fourth Lake Day-Use Area and the Alger Island Campground, both located in the Town of Webb.

The Department of Environ–mental Conservation (DEC) described the improvements in a draft Unit Management Plan (UMP) for Alger Island Campground that it announced Thursday, March 26.  Continue reading →
