Services set for Patricia B. Buehler, 72

Patricia (Bathke) Buehler, 72, of Otter Lake, wife of Donald F. passed away suddenly at her residence on Friday, April 8, 2016.

Affectionately known as Pat, she was born in Utica, on February 2, 1944, a daughter of George and Dorothy White Bathke. She grew up in Deer-field, graduating from Whites-boro High School, with the Class of 1964. Thereafter for several years she was employed as a radio assembler at General Electric of Utica.  

On June 2, 1972, Pat was united in marriage with Donald F. Buehler, at the Maynard Methodist Church. After that she settled in Otter Lake, where she and Donald operated Adirondack Acres Game Farm, raising beef and dairy cattle, emu, deer and varieties of exotic birds. Pat and Don were well known for the vegetables which they raised and sold; they also cut and sold fire wood.

Pat greatly enjoyed all types of hunting, fishing and trapping; she was a member of Black Lake Fish and Game Club. She enjoyed wood working crafts, and was especially talented at carving decorative designs onto the surface of emu eggs.

In addition to her husband, Don, Pat is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Andrew D. (Luanne) Buehler, Otter Lake, Adam D. Buehler, Ft. Collins, CO; three grandchildren, Ehyrie, Brock and Brooklyn; one brother, George “Butch” Bathke; one sister, Barbara Bathke, both Rome; one niece, Amy Jo, one grandniece Alyssa, one grandnephew, Jacob and cousins.

Calling hours are Thursday, April 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, April 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where services will commence Friday at 4 p.m.

Afterwards, all are invited to attend a reception and celebration of Pat’s life at Otter Lake Fire Hall beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 15. Memorial contributions may be made to Otter Lake Fire Department State Rt. 28, Otter Lake, NY 13338.
