Town of Webb Police Dept. reports law enforcement activity

The Town of Webb Police Department has reported the following recent law enforcement activity.

A 64-year-old Old Forge man was charged with Harassment, 2nd degree following an incident that occurred on Thursday, August 6 at 11:46 a.m.

According to the report, the defendant was arrested following a complaint from a Kinney Drugs employee who stated that he had continued to harass her verbally on several occasions after she had asked him to stop. Continue reading

Inlet Public Library receives state grant funds for building improvements

Inlet Public Library was one of eight libraries in State Senator Hugh T. Farley’s 49th Senatorial District that were recently awarded construction funds that will allow them to improve their facilities.

The library will receive $29,831 earmarked for interior renovations such as storage space, bathroom renovations, and electrical renovations for computers.  Continue reading

MAC’s receives donation from Webb Class of 2014

On behalf of the MAC’s Safe Ride Board, I would like to thank the Town of Webb Class of 2014 for generously donating the balance of funds that remained in their post-graduation account to our organization.

There are so many other ways they could have utilized these funds, and we are greatly touched and deeply grateful for their generosity and thoughtfulness.

Funeral service planned for William Philip Christy, Jr., 96

Dad-HSSeniorWilliam Philip (“Phil”) Christy, Jr., 96, passed on to the afterlife on August 5, 2015. He was born in Old Forge, NY, on July 28, 1919 (also his son Bill’s and grandson Will’s birthday) and lived there until his family moved to the Syracuse area in 1937.

He graduated from Liverpool High School in 1937, from Syracuse University in 1943 and from Syracuse University College of Law in 1952.

He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1947.   Continue reading

Niccolls Memorial Church grateful for recent pie sale support

The members of Niccolls Church’s Mission Boutique Capital Campaign committee wish to offer our thanks and a hearty “Well Done!” to the bakers of the 80-plus delicious and lovely pies that sold out early at the Saturday, July 18 Pies in the Park Sale.

A grateful shout out also goes to the many smiling and efficient volunteers who offered part of their summer weekend to put up tents, move and set up tables and chairs, price, wrap, sell and slice pies, scoop ice cream, squirt whipped cream, pour lemonade, staff the cashier table…and a few hours later take it all down again!
