Inlet Public Library receives state grant funds for building improvements

Inlet Public Library was one of eight libraries in State Senator Hugh T. Farley’s 49th Senatorial District that were recently awarded construction funds that will allow them to improve their facilities.

The library will receive $29,831 earmarked for interior renovations such as storage space, bathroom renovations, and electrical renovations for computers.

The funds were made available through the 2014-2015 Public Library Construction Grant Program.

“As the Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Libraries, I am pleased to see these state funds assisting our local libraries in improving the buildings that house vital information and allow organizations to keep up with the demands of their users,” Senator Farley said.

Senator Farley noted the construction grants are part of an extremely competitive process and are funded through construction monies which are appropriated annually in the State budget.
