Red Hatters ready luncheon

The Inlet Red Hatters will travel to Alder Creek Inn for lunch on Tuesday, August 25 at 12:30 p.m. Anyone interested in carpooling can meet in the parking lot of the Inlet Town Offices at 11:15 a.m.

AARP Driving Course slated for Aug. 24, 25

An AARP Driving Course will be held at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge on Monday and Tuesday, August 24 and 25 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. both days.

The fee is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Registration is available by calling (315) 392-3808.

Niccolls Church is located at 228 Crosby Blvd., next to the Old Forge Library.

VIEW to present operatic performance Aug. 20

Opera and Broadway music aficionados have the opportunity to attend a performance by world-class opera singers, baritone David Pershall and mezzo soprano Krysty Swann at VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, on Thursday, August 20.

Pershall, a Temple, TX native, recently returned to the states after performing the part of Rodrigo in Don Carlo at the Austrian Opera Festival, Oper Burg Gars.  Continue reading

Don’t fall for the smear campaign against Forestport Supervisor Snead

To the Editor:

I am sick of reading slanderous allegations against Forestport’s Supervisor, Parker Snead, and his wife. The lawsuits against them are frivolous and unfounded. It is hurting our town and is a big waste of time (bet the lawyers love this nonsense). Some of these actions have been dropped and apologies made, but no mention is made of that. Continue reading

Antique Appraisals available at Goodsell Museum, Saturday, Aug. 22

Antique dealer Mathew Scheidelman will offer antique appraisals at the Goodsell Museum on Saturday, August 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by the Town of Webb Historical Association.

Scheidelman, who has over 34 years experience as an antiques dealer, will appraise up to five vintage or antique items per person.  Continue reading
