Principal John Swick named Alexis Dolan to the Town of Webb school’s Wall of Distinction on Friday, August 7.
Nominations are made through a form on the school website.
Alexis was nominated by Karen Mitchell, Webb’s first grade teacher.
“Alexis helps out in my classroom daily. She is helpful, kind and very professional,” Mitchell said. “She is also very responsible.”
“I never have to repeat my directions and she goes the extra mile. The kids and I love her; she will make a great asset to any classroom,” Mitchell said.
The Wall of Distinction started last January, and students in kindergarten to twelfth grade can be nominated by anyone in the school or community.
Principal Swick said some students have had some impressive accomplishments and actions that go unnoticed both in and out of school.
“Many people felt that these students should be recognized,” he said.
Wall of Distinction winners are determined by a committee from The Webb Way, Swick said.
“They look at all the nominations for the quarter and pick two or three winners,” he said.
Winners have plaques that are displayed in the Main Office hallway with their picture, along with a small write-up about their achievements.
“Students who are nominated, but do not win, are also notified in a letter sent home congratulating them for being nominated and telling them what they were nominated for,” Swick said.
Next year, the new third quarter winners will replace the current third quarter winners, he said.
Town of Webb 2015 graduate, Nicole Redpath painted the artwork on the Wall of Distinction.
