VIEW: Four exhibits to open with January 17th reception

VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, will celebrate the opening of four new exhibitions with a public reception on Saturday, January 17.

Paradigm Shift: Visual Reflection by Old Forge artist Robert Imundo, is a fantastical body of work that draws on dreams, surrealism, and mysticism. In a series of oil paintings and graphite drawings Imundo creates a world where rocks float and trees grow as mirrored images of thems. The exhibit will be on display from January 10 through May 24.

Branches, by Alice Valenti, is comprised of a series of small landscapes in graphite, ink, gouache, colored pencil and charcoal.  Continue reading

Town of Webb readies for 2015 at annual organizational meeting

The Town of Webb Board held its 2015 Organizational Meeting on Monday, January 5, where it made appointments to guide its operation for the upcoming year.

Community Bank and Adirondack Bank—the Old Forge branches—have been designated as official depositories for the Town of Webb.  Continue reading

Town of Webb police report

The Town of Webb Police Department reported the following activity from December 29 through January 6.

On Tuesday, January 6, the Town of Webb Police Department arrested and charged a 24-year-old Old Forge man for Assault 3rd degree (class A misdemeanor). He was arraigned at the Town of Webb Court and released on his own recognizance.

VIEW and Old Forge Library partner for musical workshop

VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, and the Old Forge Library will present a free instrumental workshop at the Old Forge Library on Saturday, January 17 at 1:30 p.m.

The hands-on workshop will be led by members of The Canal Street String Band who will be performing live at VIEW at 7:30 p.m. the same day. Continue reading
