Riehle, Snead to discuss local Route 28 projects with the DOT

Town supervisors Ted Riehle of Webb, and Parker Snead of Forestport, have been invited to discuss upcoming road projects in the area.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 3, at the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) office in Utica.

Riehle said that he and Snead were invited by DOT Region 2 Director Barbara Mattice.  Continue reading

Eagle Bay Fire Department readies Chili Cook-off, Open House; Feb. 28

The Eagle Bay Fire Department invites all local restaurants, professional and amateur cooks, and those who cook for local fire houses and organizations to enter its 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, February 28.

Chili will be judged in the following categories: Professional, Amateur,  Fire Department and People’s Choice.  Continue reading

Herkimer Co. Senior Awards seeks nominees

The Herkimer County Office for the Aging’s Advisory Council is seeking nominations for their two annual awards: Senior Citizen of the Year and Outstanding Contribution.

Nominees must be Herkimer County residents at least 60 years of age and have a history of volunteer service to other senior citizens.   Continue reading
