Albany Leg. celebrates Adirondack region

Assemblyman Marc W. Butler (R,C,I-Newport) recently joined representatives from various organizations who came to Albany to advocate for preservation of the Adirondack Park and the region, and its accessible streams, trails and hunting grounds.

Many subjects, from wildlife preservation, to tourism, to economic development and health were discussed at the educational event.

“There is an abundance of natural wonder to marvel at in our Adirondack Park, and we are so fortunate for the ways in which it has shaped our communities,” said Butler.

Annual Meeting: Kiwanis elects officers

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks held its election of officers at its annual meeting held on Thursday, May 1st.

Don’t forget Inlet’s Memory Walk, June 21

The 5th Annual Inlet Memory Walk, a fundraiser that supports Alzheimer’s research and the local Resource Center for Independent Living (RCIL) program, will begin and end at Arrowhead Park on Saturday, June 21st.

Forestport kids are eligible for free five-day sleepover at Camp Nazareth

Children ages nine to 15 who reside in the Town of Forestport are eligible to attend Camp Nazareth for one week free of charge. Available weeks for the four-night, five-day sleepover camp experience are July 13 to 18, July 20 to 25, and July 27 to August 1st.

Registrations and medical release forms are available at the Forestport Town Hall. Children living outside the town lines or grandchildren of residents are eligible for the camp’s group rate of $250 per week.  Continue reading
