Inlet Historical Society sets cleaning day

The Inlet Historical Society is planning a spring cleaning day for Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Historical members are seeking assistance with applying polyurethane treatments to the new window seats, cleaning and sorting of the first floor museum space, moving  items to the upstairs, and installation of lighting on the second floor.

Help is also needed for light yard work and planting.

Anyone who would like to help get the building ready for the summer season is welcome.

Central Adirondack Art Show opens

The 63rd Annual Central Adirondack Art Show at View opened with a public reception on Saturday, May 3, featuring the work of more than 200 artists from around the region.

The opening also featured handmade books and metal wall sculptures by artist Patrick Kinz-Thompson.

The Central Adirondack Art Show will be on display through June 22nd.

Webb Class of ’64 planning 50th Reunion

The Town of Webb High School Class of 1964 graduated on June 19th, 1964 and will celebrate its milestone 50th anniversary with a class reunion on Saturday, June 21st.

Members of the class, also known as the Jolly Quaffs, will meet for Happy Hour at Van Auken’s Inne at 4 p.m. with dinner to follow at 5:30 p.m.

For anyone interested in revisiting the school building, Town of Webb UFSD Principal John Swick will provide a tour on Friday, June 20 at 1 p.m.

Towns say thanks for another great Community Pride Day

Thank you to all the volunteers representing Inlet, Old Forge, Raquette Lake, Long Lake, Indian Lake and Speculator who took part in Community Pride Day on Wednesday, May 7th.
