Amid the rainy spring weather, walkers enjoyed the beautiful sunny day which seems to be routine for Inlet’s annual Memory Walk to end Alzheimer’s.

This year’s walk turned out to be a double-header because a group from Old Forge had to walk early in order to get back for another event.

Nevertheless, they made time in their busy day to honor the memory of Lorraine Stripp, to whom this year’s walk was dedicated.

Promptly at 10 a.m. the main group of walkers set out to do their three-mile stroll from the Inlet Town Hall to Drake’s restaurant along Route 28, but no walker was in danger because they proceeded on the newly constructed Elaine Townsend Trail. Continue reading

Inlet invites participants for for 4th annual Memory Walk

The 4th Annual Memory Walk, an event that helps to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Inlet.

Teams are being formed and donations are being collected online or by those who will be participating in the walk.

This year’s event is dedicated in the memory of Lorraine Stripp, a longtime resident of Old Forge who succumbed to the disease on July 31, 2011.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Inlet Town Hall building in Arrowhead Park and the walk starts at 10 a.m.  Continue reading

2nd Inlet Memory Walk honors Mary Ann Hardy

The Town of Inlet will join the Alzheimer’s Assoc-iation’s national effort to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research by hosting the 2nd Annual Memory Walk on Saturday, June 18.

This year’s walk will honor the memory of late area resident Mary Ann Hardy, an Alzheimer’s victim who passed away on February 26.

Participants of the Memory Walk will walk from Arrowhead Park along the TOBIE Path to Eagle Bay and back. Upon return to Arrowhead Park there will be refreshments, live music, and a silent auction. Informational materials on Alzheimer’s disease will be available on-site for pick-up.
