Seistan’s Rough & Ready (Roughie), a grand champion Afghan Hound owned by Lynn and Bill Faro of Inlet and Marylin Thompson of Seattle, WA, has been on a winning streak in the dog show circuit since the beginning of the year.

In the  56 shows she has competed in she has won “Best of Breed” 30 times with one Group One win, four Group Two wins, and one win in each of Group Three and Four. Roughie also has 13 opposite sex wins and 11 select wins. Continue reading

Old Forge: Winners announced in 18th Annual Classic Car Show

The 18th Annual Father’s Day Week-end Car Show was held on Saturday, June 20 at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center in Old Forge.

Over 150 classic cars participated in the show.

The show was sponsored by the Central Adirondack Associa-tion (CAA), Cooper Kia of Yorkville and Lee Buick GMC fo Boonville.

Thank you for community support

We cannot begin to thank family, friends and the entire community for everything that they have done during this trying time. Thank you for the cards, meals, trips, company and most of all your love.

Dave’s legacy and love for his family and the Woodcraft and Town of Webb communities are all around us. He would be humbled by the outpouring of support and the number of people who have come to our aid.

He will be forever with us, beside us and in our hearts and we are eternally grateful for this community and the people within it.

Town of Webb UFSD Scholarship honors memories of Shawn Farmer & Scott Hall

Town of Webb School Class of 2015 graduates Daniel Stefanko and Tommy Cooper are recipients of the first Shawn Farmer/Scott Hall Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship honors the memories of the two TOW School alumni and is made possible through the fundraising efforts of their friends and family.

Emily Hoffman receives Diane Desnoyers Scholarship

The Town of Webb Community Scholar-ship Fund is happy to announce Emily Hoffman of Woodgate and the Class of 2015 as the first annual recipient of the Diane Desnoyers Scholarship for Nursing.

Emily will be attending the St. Elizabeth’s College of Nursing in the Fall, and has been interning in a hospital through the New Visions program at Jefferson-Lewis BOCES.

Diane Desnoyers was a dedicated and humane nurse and health professional serving our region and especially the Town of Webb.

The Diane Desnoyers Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors from the Town of Webb UFSD in their pursuit of higher education for a degree and license in nursing.
