Roughie the Faros’ Afghan Hound

Seistan’s Rough & Ready (Roughie), a grand champion Afghan Hound owned by Lynn and Bill Faro of Inlet and Marylin Thompson of Seattle, WA, has been on a winning streak in the dog show circuit since the beginning of the year.

In the  56 shows she has competed in she has won “Best of Breed” 30 times with one Group One win, four Group Two wins, and one win in each of Group Three and Four. Roughie also has 13 opposite sex wins and 11 select wins.

As of May 31, Roughie is ranked number six Afghan Hound in the USA, and number four in Grand Championship standings.

Under the training of Pam Centola of Old Forge, Roughie’s impressive show career began last fall with a three-point major win at the Central NY Kennel Club Show in Syracuse.

Roughie’s trainer is Evan Threlfall, an American Kennel Club Registered Handler and a member of the Professional Handlers’ Association.
