Strong Economic Rebuild by Stephen Fletcher
Forestport artist Stephen Fletcher has spent much of his life entertaining regional audiences with his musical, conversational and artistic talents.
Fletcher’s artwork will be the focus of a celebration at Gallery 3040 on Saturday, August 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The First Friday Art Walk in Old Forge on July 3 will feature seven venues for art lovers to shop, eat, listen to music, meet artists and view demonstrations from 5 to 8 p.m.

Artist, David Patterson
Photographer and pastel artist David Patterson of Thendara will be the featured artist at a Meet the Artist Reception at Gallery 3040 in Old Forge on Saturday, May 16. Patterson will be available from 2 to 5 p.m. to meet the public and discuss his work. The event is free of charge. Wine and light refreshments will be served.

An artist reception for celebrated photographer John Radigan will be held at Gallery 3040 in Old Forge on Friday, August 29 from 3 to 6 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view Radigan’s photographs and talk to the artist about his work while enjoying refreshments.
During the event, Radigan will unveil his latest endeavor, a large triptych work of art. He will also give away a print of his image, Clouds, to one lucky attendee. Continue reading
Wildlife artist David Kiehm has been honored as BBC’s Wildlife Artist of the Year in the International Artist Category – Birds for his oil painting titled, Foundation Wall. His painting was chosen from over 1,400 entries.

“This painting stood out in a competition category because of its lovely composition, exquisite detail and excellent depiction of light,” said the judges of the competition.
Kiehm has had work published in numerous outdoor magazines including Sports Afield and Field and Stream.
As an Art Director for Danbury Mint, his expertise in wildlife and art was a perfect fit in the publications. He now is a full time fine artist living outside of the Cooperstown area.
A First Friday Art Walk in Old Forge will take place on September 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. All are invited to visit participating local galleries and businesses that will be showcasing the art work of local and regional artists.
The Art Walks will run through October.
A pocket map that includes the locations of Art Walk events will be available at the participating businesses and at the Old Forge Visitor Information Center prior to the event. Continue reading
