Forestport Republican Committee endorses Bill Gardner for Highway Superintendent

We would like to make the citizens of Forestport aware of our thinking as to why Mr. Gardner is the best choice for the tax payers of Forestport. Mr. Gardner has been elected Highway Superintendent spanning nearly two decades and has a record of responsibility and accountability.

He manages more than a dozen associates during peak periods. His duties also involve the purchase of sand, salt, trucks and winter product, maintains equipment and is responsible for building maintenance as well as interfacing with county and local towns during the year. He is responsible for maintaining a 1.5 million dollar budget each year and has cut almost $150,000 in expenses to that budget over the last 4 years despite facing some of the worst winter weather in recent history.  Continue reading

Forestport: Supervisor Snead doesn’t deserve another term

To the Editor:

Over the past year I have FOILed, observed, researched and found Parker Snead to be greatly lacking in the way he has conducted business as Supervisor of the Town of Forestport during his present term.

I believe he has shown himself to be inept in a number of areas and fallen way short in serving the needs of the taxpayers.  Continue reading

Old Forge ‘Meet the Candidates’ forum slated September 1st

A unique opportunity to meet Town of Webb and Herkimer County candidates, prior to the upcoming Primary, will be held Tuesday, September 1st in Old Forge.

Audience members will be able to hear their thoughts on critical issues and ask questions in an open forum.
