Old Forge ‘Meet the Candidates’ forum slated September 1st

A unique opportunity to meet Town of Webb and Herkimer County candidates, prior to the upcoming Primary, will be held Tuesday, September 1st in Old Forge.

Audience members will be able to hear their thoughts on critical issues and ask questions in an open forum.

Town of Webb offices to be decided Two-week Election Day countdown: CAA’s candidate event allows last side-by-side comparison of hopefuls

Rapid-fire format a departure from CAP-21’s earlier pre-primary forum

A second Candidates’ Night was held this week at Old Forge’s View—this time sponsored by the Central Adirondack Association (CAA)—with audience members getting a chance to hear Town of Webb hopefuls at a more advanced stage of candidacy, and Election Day just two weeks off.

The field of Webb candidates was only slightly smaller than CAP-21’s pre-primary event, with only George Hiltebrant missing.

Hiltebrant had elected to go all-or-nothing in the primary and was narrowly nixed by Democratic opponent Dave Berkstresser.

Making up the difference, however, on Tuesday, October 25, were the two candidates for Herkimer County Sheriff: Chris Farber, the incumbent, and Tim Klock.

Other candidates were those running for Town Supervisor—Richard Risley, Dave Berk-stresser, Ted Riehle, and Stuart deCamp. Continue reading

CAA plans candidates night for Oct. 25

The Central Adirondack Association is planning to host an “Ask the Candi-dates Night” event for candidates representing the Town of Webb.

The event will be held at Gould Hall at View on Tuesday, October 25 from 7 to 9 p.m.

All residents are invited to attend and write down questions to ask the candidates. Questions will be collected prior to the session, and if time allows questions will be accepted from the floor.Refreshments will follow, offering an opportunity for the community to speak with the candidates in a social atmosphere.

Candidate Night: Array of hopefuls competing for seats in upcoming Town of Webb primaries, general election

CAP-21 welcomed the public to meet and get to know the Town of Webb candidates that will be appearing on ballots this fall, either on primary day next Tuesday, September 13, or the general election on November 8.

The event, which was billed as Webb Candidates’ Night 2011, was held in VIEW’s Gould Hall.

Five supervisor candidates were on hand, each hoping to succeed Robert Moore who will be vacating the position after his fifth term expires at the end of this year.

Supervisor candidates were Dave Berkstresser, George Hiltebrant, Ted Riehle, Richard Risley, and Stuart deCamp.

And the crowd was large with 120 audience members signing in at the entrance. Continue reading
