Ray Schoeberlein honored with prestigious Kiwanis award

Longtime Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks member Ray Schoeberlein was honored with the Walter Zeller Fellow Award at a special recognition event held at Van Auken’s Inne on Sunday, June 7.

The Walter Zeller award was created by Kiwanis International Foundation to recognize any individual in whose name a donation of $1,250 has been made to the Kiwanis Eliminate Project.  Continue reading

VIEW: Community invited to sing in Niccolls Church Gospel Choir

VIEW will host a gospel service led by Rev. Lawrence Bartel, pastor of Niccolls Memorial Church, and the Rev. Shaun Whitehead, a chaplain at St. Lawrence University, as part of the art center’s Adirondack Music Fest on Sunday, September 20.

The service will be held at VIEW at 8:30 a.m.

The gospel service is free and open to the public and community members are invited to participate with the Niccolls Choir to sing in an informal gospel choir.  Continue reading

Cycle Adirondacks coming to Old Forge area

Tuesday, June 9 marked 75 days until Cycle Adiron-dacks, Wildlife Conserva-tion Society’s new road-cycling tour of the Adirondack Park and the surrounding region.

Jim Connerty honored as Central Ad’k Kiwanian of the Year

Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks presented the Kiwanian of the Year Award to  Jim Connerty at a recognition event held Sunday, June 7 at Van Auken’s Inne in Thendara.

The award was presented by Kiwanis President Michael Griffin who acknowledged Connerty for his many years of commitment to the organization, which included multiple terms as its president.  Continue reading
