The Senior Health, Activity & Recreation Program (SHARP) held a community event/fundraiser sponsored by CAP-21 on Saturday, June 6 at the Old Forge Fire Hall.
We had a great time celebrating the 1950’s. It was a fun day filled with dancing, laughter, games, snacks and prizes. My personal favorite memory was when a young girl asked a senior citizen what the 45 rpm record was that was part of our display. It was touching to see a generational gap lessened by hands-on learning.
We would like to thank the many businesses and individuals who donated prizes, snacks, and decorations for this event: 5 Corners Café, ACE Hardware, Adirondack Garage, Adirondack Hearth-side Realty, Adirondack Reader.
Allen’s Jewelers, Joe Bolton, Brooker’s True Value, Buddy’s Pizza, Candy Cottage, Hazel Dellavia, DiOrio’s Supermarket, Fastrac, Feathers and Boughs, Frankie’s Taste of Italy, French Louie Adirondack Sports, The Front Door/Back Door.
Gallery 3040, Hollister’s Trading Post, Kinney Drugs, Teeput & Marie LaPorte, The Lights Are On Studio, The Maxson House, Midvale Veterinary Clinic, Moose River Trading Co., Nutty Putty, Old Forge Hardware, Old Forge Library, The Old Mill.
RC Oster, Over the Moon Salon, Ozzie’s Coffee Bar, Randy’s Restaurant, Raquette Lake Navigation Co., Trish Sehring, Shelter, Souvenir Village, The Strand Theatre, The Tavern, The TOW Bar, Van Auken’s Inne, Margaret Vandelinder, Village Square, Walt’s Diner, Wilderness Interiors, Wrap, City and Glue.
Your generosity is truly amazing!
I’d also like to give special thanks to our sponsor, CAP-21, the Town of Webb Board of Fire Commissioners, the Old Forge Fire Department and the Old Forge Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.
It’s been said often, because it’s true…we are fortunate to live in such a caring community!
