Webb music students to present holiday band concert, Dec. 17th

The Senior, Junior and Stage Bands at Town of Webb School, under the direction of instrumental music teacher Emily Herrmann, will be performing their holiday concert on Wednesday, December 17 at 7 p.m.

A special feature will be each section of the band performing as a small ensemble.

Selections will include various Christmas favorites, music from Disney’s Frozen, Hark Those Harold Angels Rock, and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.

The public is invited to get into the holiday spirit with a night full of Christmas music at the school.

Old Forge DMV to extend hours for the Snodeo

The Old Forge DMV will be open for extended hours over Snodeo Weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 12, 13, and 14.

The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.

Saturday, the office will be open from  8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone seeking a temporary registration on Sunday can contact John Abdo by cell phone at (315) 240-0747.

Two Inlet students win awards at County Conservation Field Day

Two Inlet Common School students were honored with awards from the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District for their entries in recent essay and poster contests conducted by the organization.

The Old Forge Garden Club held a Christmas gathering at Lakeside Terrace apartments in Old Forge on Tuesday, December 2nd.

Guest speaker was Gary Lee who gave a photo presentation on Adirondack orchids.

Following the program home baked cookies and a hot spiced cranberry beverage were served.

Remsen-Lake Placid Corridor: Comment period ends December 15th

The State Departments of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Transportation (DOT) are seeking public input through December 15 on a possible amendment to the Unit Management Plan (UMP) for the Remsen-Lake Placid Travel Corridor (the Corridor).
