Two Inlet students win awards at County Conservation Field Day

Two Inlet Common School students were honored with awards from the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District for their entries in recent essay and poster contests conducted by the organization.

Hamilton County Sportsmen sponsor 5th Annual Coyote Contest

The Hamilton County Federation of Sportsmen Inc. is sponsoring the 5th Annual Coyote Contest from now through March 2015. Each month, the registered hunter who harvests the largest coyote in Hamilton County will receive $100.

At the end of March, whoever brings in the largest coyote in weight will receive $150.

Two $50 door prizes from businesses participating in the weigh-in will be awarded at the end of the season.  Continue reading

Hamilton Cnty Republicans reaffirm support for candidate Elise Stefanik

Republican committee members from around Hamilton County met Wednesday at Indian Lake and reaffirmed their January 9, 2014 vote to endorse Elise Stefanik of Willsboro as their choice for The United States’ House of Representatives in the 21st Congressional District. Elise Stefanik

“Today’s vote again makes it clear we believe Ms. Stefanik is best suited to represent us in Washington,” said Bill Osborne, GOP Chair for Hamilton County.

Hamilton County Sportsmen sponsor 4th Annual Coyote Contest

The Hamilton County Federation of Sportsmen Inc. is sponsoring the 4th Annual Coyote Contest from now through March 2014. Each month, the registered hunter who harvests the largest coyote in Hamilton County will receive $100.

At the end of March, whoever brings in the largest coyote in weight will receive $150.

Gift certificates from T’s EZ Mart in Inlet, O’Connor Automotive in Speculator, King’s Collision and Automo-tive Repair in Indian Lake, and Hoss’s Country Corner in Long Lake will be awarded to contestants. Continue reading

Hamilton Cnty Coyote Contest Continues

The Hamilton County Federation of Sportsmen Inc. are sponsoring a Coyote Contest in Hamilton County through March of 2012.

Each month, $150 will be awarded to the person who weighs in the largest coyote.

In March, at the season’s end, $250 will be awarded to the person with the overall largest coyote, and another lucky winner will also receive $250 for the coyote with ‘the most,’ or the highest total weight. Continue reading

Ice Fishing Contest to start in January

The Hamilton County Federation of Sportsmen Inc. is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Ice Fishing Derby between the months of January and March 2012.

Those interested in entering  can pick up registration forms from the Inlet Information Office, Raquette Lake Hotel and Tap Room, Hoss’ Country Corner in Long Lake, and Tanners Outdoor Sports in Speculator.

Casey’s Corners in Piseco will also be conducting the weigh station for the contest.

Entrants can fish any legally open body of water in Hamilton County and bring their catches to the closest weigh station to be entered in the derby.

Each month, cash prizes of $125 will be awarded for the largest fish, by weight, in the following categories: Lake Trout, Brown Trout, Pike, and Perch

Registration fees are $25 for an individual adult and $40 for an immediate family.
