Christmas Sing-Along and Soup set for Niccolls Church on December 6

Niccolls Church is preparing for a Community Christmas Sing-Along and Soup Supper that will be held in the church’s Fellowship Hall on Saturday, December 6.

Singing will begin at 4 p.m., followed by a supper of soups, breads, beverages and desserts provided by friends and neighbors in the Central Adirondack area.  Continue reading

Local communities blessed with great emergency response team, but additional volunteers always needed to ensure quality service

During this time of Thanksgiving, we celebrate our family, friends and faith, and rightly so. These are truly inspirations to us all.

However, I would like to point to a group of people within our communities that often go unnoticed—our volunteers. Those who work countless hours whether it is in the church, at our not-for-profits, feeding those that are hungry, and especially those that share.  Continue reading

Niccolls accepting orders for December Food Sense

Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church on Crosby Blvd. in is taking orders for the Food Sense package for December.

Each “unit” costs $15.50. This program is open to all.

Register now for December workshops at VIEW arts center

VIEW, the multi-arts center in Old Forge, will be offering a variety of fun and educational workshops and activities for all levels of experience during the month of December.

Registration is now open for the following family-friendly workshops:

Learn to create woven Carolina Snowflakes at a Saturday, December 6 workshop that will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants will weave ash wood strips into three-dimensional woven rustic snowflakes. Continue reading
