Register now for December workshops at VIEW arts center

VIEW, the multi-arts center in Old Forge, will be offering a variety of fun and educational workshops and activities for all levels of experience during the month of December.

Registration is now open for the following family-friendly workshops:

Learn to create woven Carolina Snowflakes at a Saturday, December 6 workshop that will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants will weave ash wood strips into three-dimensional woven rustic snowflakes.

The fee is $20 for members or $25 for non-members.

All materials are supplied—enough for one small and one large snowflake.

Advance registration is required.

Create two Fused Glass Pendants at a Saturday, December 6 workshop from noon to 1 p.m. This workshop is suitable for all ages.

Using various shapes, colors, and types of glass, create a one-of-a-kind pendant with a satin cord necklace.

Pieces are fired in the kiln overnight and will be available for pickup the following afternoon.

The fee is $12 for members and $15 for non-members.

Make a Decorated Mug or Plate at a Sunday, December 7 workshop from noon to 1 p.m.

Using a plain white mug or plate as your canvas, personalize your piece with sharpie or ceramic markers.

All materials are supplied. Pieces will need to bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

Take your piece home with you or leave it at VIEW to bake. Return the next day to pick up.

The fee is $8 for members or $10 for non-members.

Space is limited and advanced registration is required for these workshops.
