Dr. Douglas Thayer providing local chiropractic services

Dr. Douglas Thayer, owner of Clinton New Hartford Chiropractic of New Hartford, has recently purchased Old Forge Chiropractic located in the Muffin Patch Complex at 2946 State Route 28.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Dr. Thayer will share his time between both practices, which is good news for his local patients who have been traveling the 50-plus miles for chiropractic needs.

Quick Guide for common topics, from docks to housing additions

Boathouses are regulated by both the Town (local municipality) and the APA. However, the actual permit will be issued only by the town.

This assumes the boathouse complies with the regulatory requirements of the APA, which includes height, size, use of space and location relative to wetlands.

Old Forge lakefront concert set Sunday

The Sunday Summer Concert Series held at the Old Forge Lakefront will feature The Double Barrel Blues Band on July 27 at 7 p.m.

The Double Barrel Blues Band is a modern blues group known for their aggressive guitar and authentic blues sounds.

Everyone is welcome to bring along their own chair and blanket and enjoy the free concert.

The Summer Concert Series is sponsored by the Town of Webb.

Photographer Sue Kiesel releases children’s book about Snowy Owls

Local wildlife photographer Susan Luther Kiesel has just released her first book, The Many Faces of Snowy Owls, a children’s book filled with photos, fun text and interesting facts about the beautiful and mysterious snowy owl.IMG_5140*******

Kiesel captured the many faces, moods and habits of the bird over a period of time that extended from December 26, 2013 through March 29 of this year, at field sites along Route 170 in the Town of Fairfield. Continue reading →
