The Woods Inn: New owners to host symphony cocktail bash

The Woods Inn is getting ready for Friday’s Cocktail Party—preceding the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra performance at Inlet’s Arrowhead Park—a first-time hosting of the event under Charlie and Nancy Frey, who took ownership of the Inn on July 10th.

Enchanted Forest Water Safari listed as a top U.S. water park

Enchanted Forest Water Safari has been named as a winner in the 2014 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice® Attractions awards as one of the top 25 water parks in the United States.

Webb supervisor contacts NYSDOT, looks to tweak Route 28 traffic signals

The three-color traffic signals on Route 28 saw their first full day of use on Tuesday, July 22, with motorists voicing concerns almost immediately to Town of Webb Supervisor Ted Riehle, about back-ups and delays.

The signals have been installed temporarily for single-lane passage, while bridge work is being done on the Moose River bridge at McKeever. Continue reading →

Annual Old Forge Antique Show returns for 40th year, July 26 & 27

The Old Forge Antiques and Vintage Show and Sale, sponsored by VIEW,  returns to the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street in Old Forge on Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27th.

The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.  Continue reading →

Legion Auxilary seeks applicants for Mary Russell Education Scholarship

The Covey Pashley Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary is currently accepting applications for the Mary Russell Continuing Education Scholarship.

Boater Safety course slated for Old Forge

A NY State Boater Safety Course will be held at the Park Avenue Building in Old Forge on Thursdays July 31, August 7 and 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. Students must attend all three classes.

The NYS Boater Safety Certificate is required for boat operators ages 10 to 18 and adults operating solo, and mandatory for all PWC operators from ages 14 to adult.

AARP Driving Course set

An AARP Driving Course will be given at the White Otter Fish & Game Club on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 5 and 6 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. both days.
