The Thendara Golf Club’s Men’s Member-Guest Tournament, held Friday and Saturday, July 18 and 19, consisted of 35 teams split into six flights.

One of the six flights was a Senior Division that competed in a 36-hole net best ball format. The 2014 Senior Division champions were George Meeker and his guest Jerry LeClar with a 36-hole total of 124—20 under par. Continue reading

The Mountain R/C Modelers of Old Forge will hold its 13th Annual Fly-In and Fun-Fly at the airfield on North Street in Old Forge on Saturday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The highlight of this radio-controlled model event, which draws pilots from all over the East, will be an air show at 1 p.m.
The public is invited to bring a chair and enjoy a day with friends, family and the radio-controlled flying community.
Admission is free, and food and drinks will be available on-site.

A lakeside memorial service for John Paul Dunay, 56, of Inlet who passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica will be held at the Woods Inn in Inlet on Sunday, August 3, at noon.
The service will be a time to share memories of John and will be followed by a reception.
Memorial donations may be made to the Inlet Volunteer Emergency Services, P.O. Box 300, Inlet, NY 13360.
