First of all, I want to thank all of my friends and family, near and far (and I do mean far: California, Kentucky, and Maine) for the wonderful surprise birthday party on Friday, July 18th.

To say I was surprised is putting it mildly. That all those people kept it secret is a surprise in itself.
Thank you for all the beautiful cards, which I have read and reread many times, and the gifts. They are all deeply appreciated.
It made me stop and think that somewhere along the line I did something right.
Of course, I had help but my helper isn’t with us, but Ted would have enjoyed it too. It was his kind of party.
I had a wonderful time—a day I will never forget. I love you all—God Bless you.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Let’s do it again next year.
