Pontoon boats hazardous to navigate at night
To the Editor:
There are many pontoon/ party boats operating at night posing a possible hazard to other boaters and themselves. Many navigate displaying two white headlights!
It is not only illegal, according to Inland Rules of Navigation, but also a danger for others. Night vision is destroyed for the operator and also for other boaters. Continue reading
Dakota Earl earns Dean’s List honors
Dakota Earl was named to the Dean’s List at Finger Lakes Community College for the Spring 2014 semester for achieving a grade point average of 3.79.
The 2013 Town of Webb School graduate is the son of Chris and Duke Earl of Inlet.
OMECO celebrating centennial at Old Forge’s Antique Boat Show
The OMECO, a classic Fay & Bowen launch of Camp PAOWNYC on Fourth Lake in Inlet, celebrates its centennial this year and will be proudly displayed during the Antique & Classic Boat Show and Fulton Chain Rendezvous in Old Forge on Saturday, July 12th.
The OMECO has been traveling the Fulton Chain of Lakes since 1914.

Services planned for Joan E. Brophy, 84
Joan Emily Stutz Brophy, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at her home in Old Forge.
She was born on July 2, 1929 in Rochester, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marian Stutz. She graduated from Nazareth Academy in Rochester and worked for several years at the distillation products plant of the Eastman Kodak Company. She married Joseph Brophy in 1952. Continue reading
