The OMECO, a classic Fay & Bowen launch of Camp PAOWNYC on Fourth Lake in Inlet, celebrates its centennial this year and will be proudly displayed during the Antique & Classic Boat Show and Fulton Chain Rendezvous in Old Forge on Saturday, July 12th.
The OMECO has been traveling the Fulton Chain of Lakes since 1914.

Senior Jodi Bolton has lived in Old Forge her whole life. Two of her sisters have already graduated from Town of Webb School and following is her brother, now in 6th grade.
She has selected Mohawk Valley Community for her studies after graduation.
Bolton has a strong interest in art and has taken art classes her whole high school career. The current school year had her venturing into digital photography. For the time being though, she is keeping her options open and planning to decide later on a major. Continue reading
Senior Kelsey Simpson comes from a family in the medical field, and says she’s really enjoyed her science classes here at the Town of Webb.
As a result she’s planning to attend the University at Albany to major in Biochemistry. Eventually she hopes to go into medical research.
Though Kelsey had also considered Cornell University and Roberts Wesleyan College, Albany attracted her from the start. Continue reading
Senior Morgan Payne says she’s pretty clear as to her career direction, channeling her long-time love of music toward her higher education goals.
She will be attending Nazareth College next fall, where she plans to study music therapy. One day she hopes to work with kids with autism.
Morgan said her interest in music intensified when she began piano lessons 11 years ago. She participates in chorus and performed in the school musical in 10th and 11th grades and in this year’s Annie Get Your Gun. In 9th grade she was in the pit band for that year’s musical.
This school year she did an ESCO internship with Ms. Gaudin, helping to teach the kindergarten and second grade music classes.
Morgan plays alto saxaphone in the senior band and piano in the stage band. Continue reading
Senior Ashley Fallon, new to Town of Webb school this year from Adirondack Central School, says she’s very happy to be here, and plans to enter Herkimer County Community College after graduation, as a biology student.
Eventually she would like to explore medical school and become a pediatrician. She says it’s her lifetime goal.
Her interest in pediatrics is driven by her love of children. She has four younger siblings that she says are a huge part of her life.
Ashley is a member of the Hadarondah Chapter of the national honor society. She had already been a member of the National Honor Society at Adirondack High School. She participates in community service projects, helping out with fundraisers and assisting with the blood drive. She also tutors 6th and 7th graders. Continue reading
Several students and graduates of New York University have been in the Old Forge area this week shooting a Western themed short film titled “Blackwell.”

Kurt and Ximena Gardner of Adirondack Mountain Productions of Old Forge worked with the film’s director, Ed Barnes, to provide site location management and logistical and general local support.
The production is Barnes’ thesis for the New York University Graduate Film program.
The film, which will run about 20 minutes, is about an outlaw and a bounty hunter and takes place primarily in the woodlands of Montana. Continue reading
When Senior Sara Dempsey moved to Old Forge in eighth grade from a much bigger school in Langhorne, PA, she said it wasn’t that hard to adjust because she really liked the small school atmosphere. And that feeling continues to this day.
“I really like how close our senior class is, especially the girls,” she said.
As for the future she said she is excited to get out of school and do something with her life.
