Several Town of Webb students were on hand to give a presentation to the Town of Webb Board at its monthly meeting, held Tuesday, June 9.

The students, all seniors, are in the AP Government class of Mr. Timothy Leach, who was also in attendance.

Mike Mitchell updates TOW Board on Moose River Commons development

Board reflects on Health Center’s past, considers current positives

Councilman Mike Ross commended local emergency volunteer Dave Berkstresser for a fine letter that appeared in The Weekly Adirondack’s edition of April 9th, which highlighted issues relating to a local shortage of emergency response volunteers.

“A wonderful article, and I support [the effort] one-hundred-percent,” he said. “It’s obvious that we have to address this…and I thank him for that article, and [appreciate] the efforts of all those who are working on it.”  Continue reading →

NY state law gives protection to emergency volunteers operating outside home district

On Tuesday, the Town of Webb Board adopted a resolution to incorporate a change in State Municipal Law that would cover volunteer firefighters and volunteer ambulance workers in the Town of Webb Fire District No. 1, the Old Forge Ambulance Corp., and the Big Moose Ambulance Corp. Webb board targets McCauley infrastructure

The Town of Webb Board met for a regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 10, where it continued with emergency communications improvements at McCauley Mountain by approving a survey proposal made by Hollister Associates of Old Forge.

Riehle, Snead to discuss local Route 28 projects with the DOT

Town supervisors Ted Riehle of Webb, and Parker Snead of Forestport, have been invited to discuss upcoming road projects in the area.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 3, at the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) office in Utica.

Webb troubleshoots failed grant application, planning to resubmit

The Town of Webb has received an explanation from New York State as to why a funding request was rejected last month, according to Supervisor Ted Riehle.

The town had requested grant funds through a Consolidated Funding Application (CFA).

The grant was to pay for the process involved in planning upgrades to the town’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Continue reading →
