Nicole Redpath receives Robert Hazard scholarship

Susan Rimato presented Nicole Redpath with the Robert Hazard Scholarship on Friday, June 12 at Sisters Bistro in Old Forge.

The scholarship is awarded to a Town of Webb School graduate who has exhibited outstanding performance in art or music during their school career.

Susan Rimato and her sons, Rex and Remington, created the

scholarship to support young artists in the Adirondacks, and to celebrate the creative life of their late husband and father, musician Robert Hazard. Continue reading

Melissa Murphy named Webb Student of Month

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks has announced that its Student of the Month for October is Melissa Murphy. Melissa is the daughter of Donald and Lisa Murphy of Old Forge and is a senior at Town of Webb Union Free School.IMG_3416

The Student of the Month is a program initiated by the Kiwanis Club, in cooperation with the Town of Webb School, that recognizes senior students.  Continue reading

Molly Rodriguez receives Mary Russell scholarship

M1044425_344891122311284_999426199_nolly Rodriguez of Old Forge, a second year student at Lemoyne College and St. Joseph’s College of Nursing, is this year’s recipient of the Mary Russell Continuing Education Scholarship which is provided by the Old Forge American Legion Post 183 Ladies Auxiliary.

Each year the auxiliary awards the scholarship to a student pursuing higher education—be it college, technology school, graduate or trade school—following high school.

It is named in honor of late auxiliary member Mary Russell, a proponent of continuing education.
