Great weather and turnout for Kinderwood Golf Classic
The 5th Annual Kinderwood Golf Classic, the Kinder-wood Preschool’s biggest fundraiser of the year, was held Monday, August 4 at Thendara Golf Club.
The event included a day of golf, a post-play dinner at the Grill Room, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, a live auction conducted by Tim Foley and the raffle of a 18’ Bennington pontoon boat.
Among the attendees was Kinderwood founder Mirnie Kashiwa.
Tim Pylman of Old Forge was the winner of the 50/50 raffle and immediately took to the microphone to donate his winnings back to Kinderwood. Winners of the pontoon boat were Jim and Linda Rosenbloom of Fourth Lake.
“There was great weather and attendance for the golf tournament, and an incredible turnout for the dinner and auction. We are grateful for the generosity of so many who helped to raise funds in support of scholarships and other resources for our preschool program,” said Diane Heroux, Kinderwood’s head teacher.
Golf tourney, auction to support Kinderwood preschool program
The 5th annual Kinderwood Classic Golf Tournament, the biggest fundraising event of the year for the local preschool program, will be held at Thendara Golf Club, on Monday, August 4th.
The event will include a post-play dinner, an auction and raffles with proceeds supporting the school’s operational costs and scholarships for pre-schoolers.
Among the items up for auction are original paintings by area artists Ingrid Van Slyke and Karra Clark Detrick, and a framed wildlife photograph by local photographer Sue Kiesel. Continue reading
140 golfers help raise $6,000 in Kyle Riedman Memorial Tournament
Over 140 people came out to the Inlet Golf Course on Saturday, June 14th, to play in the Kyle Riedman Memorial Golf Tournment, as a way to pay tribute to a young man that was much respected in the community, and to raise charitable funds in his name.
The tournament raised over $6,000 for the Kyle Riedman Memorial Scholarship Fund through registration fees and donation support from local businesses.
Players of all ages and skill levels competed in a lighthearted round of golf for first, second, and last place prizes. Continue reading
Adirondack Bank seeking beneficiaries for annual Charity Golf tournament
The Adirondack Bank Charity Golf Classic is scheduled at the Thendara Golf Club for Monday, June 23 and the Charity Selection Committee is seeking letters of interest from local non-profit organizations that would like to be considered as recipients of funds from the charitable event.
Requests from 501(c) not-for-profit organizations are eligible for consideration. Continue reading
Thendara Club team takes 2011 Roland Christy Cup championship
The Roland Christy Cup Golf Tournament was held Sunday, September 25 at the Thendara Golf Club under sunny skies.
The annual golf competition was established in 1998 as a friendly annual tournament between the Thendara and Inlet Golf Clubs in recognition of the decades of dedication to both clubs by Roland Christy, the pro of the Inlet club. “It was a fantastic day and the course was in beautiful shape,” said Thendara assistant pro Mike Beck, who shot a 69 the day of the tournament.
