Old Forge spiffs up Main Street for the 2014–15 holiday season

Main Street Old Forge was decked out this week with holiday decorations created by Kate Russell and her Mountain Greenery staff in anticipation of this weekend’s Adirondack Christmas on Main Street.

The winter beautification effort is sponsored by CAP-21 and made possible through donations by individuals and businesses.

Town of Webb Publicity Director Mike Farmer and CAP-21 Executive Director Nick Rose were responsible for placing the unique creations that will be enjoyed by visitors and residents throughout the season.

Barnstormers hosting safety sled course

The Inlet Barnstormers Snowmobile Club will sponsor a Snowmobile Safety Course on Saturday, December 13 at the Inlet Emergency Services Building on the corner of Rte. 28 and Limekiln Rd.

Sign up will begin on Monday, December, 1  by calling Ernie Gilbert at (315) 369-3695.

Inlet hosting Holiday Dog Parade, Saturday, Nov. 29

Among the activities planned for Inlet’s Adirondack Christmas on Main Street is the Holiday Dog Parade on Saturday, November 29.

Dress your pooch in its holiday best and meet at the parking lot near the Church of the Lakes prior to the parade that will begin at 4 p.m. and end at the Inlet Town Hall.

All canine participants will receive a treat, compliments of Adirondack Reader.

Adirondack Images Photography will be taking professional photos of your pet from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Screamen Eagle.

The sitting is free of charge with a suggested donation to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society. Additional prints can be ordered upon request.

Santa will make an appearance at 3:15 p.m.

Gary Lee to offer Garden Club talk

The monthly meeting of the Old Forge Garden Club will be held on Tuesday, December 2 at 10 a.m. at Lakeside Terrace in Old Forge.

Special guest Gary Lee will present a program on Adirondack orchids and share pictures of the flowers he found around the area.

All are welcome to join members at this Christmas event.
