Main Street Old Forge was decked out this week with holiday decorations created by Kate Russell and her Mountain Greenery staff in anticipation of this weekend’s Adirondack Christmas on Main Street.

The winter beautification effort is sponsored by CAP-21 and made possible through donations by individuals and businesses.

CAP-21 says thanks for holiday basket help

Once again the Old Forge Christmas on Main Street will be brightened by hanging holiday baskets sponsored by CAP-21. We would like to express our appreciation to those businesses and individuals who helped make these baskets possible, with a major Thank You to Mountain Greenery which helped underwrite the cost of new baskets, hangers and liners.

In addition, we would like to thank the decorating team of Kate Russell, Shellie Organski, and Kristin Frymire; Walt’s Tree Service for the donation of greenery; and the hanging talents of Mike Farmer and Fred Trimbach.

For the second year in a row, CAP-21 received support for this downtown beautification initiative from Diane and Tom Hartney, of Vienna, VA., who just love the way Old Forge looks at this holiday season.

If you share the same feelings of the Hartneys, please consider a contribution to the CAP-21 flower basket program by calling (315) 369-3353 or on-line at www.cap-21.org .

The flowers will be back next June for our 16th season.

Nick Rose, CAP-21 Exec. Dir.
