Billy’s Italian-American Restaurant in Old Forge will be hosting a donation dinner on Thursday, October 30 whereby 20 percent of the all sales will benefit the Old Forge Ambulance Corps.

The Town of Inlet passed a Preliminary Budget for 2015 at its last budget session and is planning to present it to the public at a hearing scheduled for November 11 at 7:45 p.m.
The Tax Rate for 2015 is $5.72 per thousand of assessed value. This is up from $5.53 in 2014, a 3.39% increase.
This rate will be used in raising property tax revenue for the Town’s General Fund, along with the Highway Fund, and the Fire and Ambulance Fund. Continue reading
After Hurricane Katrina, many residents were challenged with the task of tracing titles to their homes, and in some cases back hundreds of years.
With a community rich with history, stretching back over two centuries, houses have been passed along through generations of families, sometimes making it quite difficult to establish ownership.
Some properties had never had a title search or a transfer of title because it had always been in the family, and passed along. Continue reading
Despite the forecasted rain and chilly temperatures, 150 runners and walkers took part in the Running Colors 5K race hosted by VIEW on Saturday, October 18.

The annual fundraising event for VIEW started and ended at the Old Forge lakefront.
Though the weather seemed to keep numbers down, the spirit and enthusiasm of those who braved it—some who came as far away as Chicago—certainly weren’t dampened, said Jim Connery, VIEW’s Special Events and Facility Manager.
