Despite the forecasted rain and chilly temperatures, 150 runners and walkers took part in the Running Colors 5K race hosted by VIEW on Saturday, October 18.
The annual fundraising event for VIEW started and ended at the Old Forge lakefront.
Though the weather seemed to keep numbers down, the spirit and enthusiasm of those who braved it—some who came as far away as Chicago—certainly weren’t dampened, said Jim Connery, VIEW’s Special Events and Facility Manager.

“Everyone who participated had a blast, enjoyed their experience and said they would return next year. We look forward to Running Colors 2015 and believe with better weather we can exceed over 300 participants,” Connerty said.
On behalf of VIEW, he thanked Emcee Mike Farmer for his great job entertaining the crowd, Diane Amos and Kiwanis Key Club members who helped man the color stations, and all the volunteers and participants.
He also acknowledged the grant support received by Excellus BC BS.
