VIEW: 28th Quilts Unlimited Exhibition to open with Friday, Oct. 10 reception

The 28th Quilts Unlimited Exhibition will open with a preview reception at VIEW on Friday, October 10th.

The reception, held from 5 to 7 p.m., is open to the public and will include light fare and live music by Dan Vellone.

The exhibit will feature over 60 quilts, ranging from traditional to contemporary styles.

Opening weekend festivities continue on Saturday with a 10 a.m. lecture by members of the Adirondack Regional Textile Artists’ Alliance (ARTAA). Continue reading

Goodsell Museum: Psychic medium to offer readings, Oct. 25th & 26th

Judith of the Light, a psychic medium, will be at the Goodsell Museum in Old Forge on Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26 to provide psychic readings to interested individuals.

The readings, approximately 30 to 45 minutes each, can be scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Satur-day and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The fee is $40 with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the museum.  Continue reading

Inlet Barnstormers set first meeting of season

The Inlet Barnstormers Snowmobile Club will hold its first meeting of the season at the Inlet Visitor Information Center on Tuesday, October 21 at 7 p.m.

Old Forge DMV closing for Columbus Day

The Old Forge DMV Satellite Office will be closed Columbus Day, Monday, October 13th.

The office will reopen on Tuesday, October 14 for regular hours of 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.

The office is located at 183 Park Avenue and can be reached by calling (315) 369-3301 or by  fax at 369-9936.

Columbus Day Weekend events kick off Friday with parade and alumni soccer

Columbus Day weekend events at the Town of Webb School will kick-off on Friday, October 10 with the annual parade at 4 p.m. where float entries will carry the theme of “States.”

Float line-up can begin at the school bus circle at 3:30 p.m. The parade will travel north on Route 28 to North Street. Continue reading
