VIEW: Running Colors 5K race slated October 18th in Old Forge

The 3rd Annual Running Colors 5K Race, a fun run/walk, will be held rain or shine on Saturday, October 18 at the Old Forge lakefront. PA190273_crp*********

Running Colors is a unique 3.1 mile fun run and walk that is focused less on speed and more on crazy color fun with friends and family. Excellus BC/BS has signed on as a major sponsor of the event through its Community Investment Program.

Along the route, participants will be blasted with non-toxic, environmentally-friendly  powdered color. Runners and walkers are encouraged to begin the race wearing white so they can end covered in vibrant hues.  Continue reading

Town of Webb on track with its Police Chief recruitment

Supervisor Ted Riehle has reported that a large number of applications have currently been received in the search for a new Town of Webb Police Chief.

“I’m optimistic that we have some very good potential candidates at this point and look forward to moving forward with the selection process,” Riehle said.

Applicants are widespread from across the state, as well as out of state, he said, with many noting their familiarity with the area. Continue reading

Woodgate Library: CAP-21 secures $10K grant for restoration projects

The Central Adirondack Partnership (CAP-21) has secured a grant of $10,000 from The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc. to benefit the Woodgate Free Library.

The Woodgate Library undertook a major interior renovation program this year and as this renovation progressed they discovered structural issues with the roofing and foundation.  Continue reading
