Mark Salsbury delivers convocation to incoming Utica College students

Utica College held its annual Convocation Ceremony on Monday, August 25, marking the official beginning of the college’s 68th academic year. New students, along with faculty, marched from the Academic Quad Rose Garden to the Harold T. Clark Athletic Center.MSalsbury

Services held for Gaston R. Desnoyers, 91

Funeral and memorial services were held in New Jersey and Florida for Gaston Robert Desnoyers (“Gas”) of Osprey Village, Amelia Island, FL, who passed away on August 16, 2014 at the age of 91 after a long and bravely fought battle with cancer. BR_2013_14_148_180

Gaston was born in on November 4, 1922 in Watchung, NJ. He was the oldest son of Martha and Albert Henry Desnoyers.  Continue reading

Doug Green wins guitar in benefit raffle

Local musician Doug Green was the winner of the drawing for a Jasmine Dreadnought Guitar that was  held at George’s Liquors in Old Forge on Monday, September 1st.

Over 800 tickets were sold at George’s, Randy’s Restaurant and Mountain Music to assist Old Forge resident Lucy Walker with costs related to medical treatment she has been receiving.  Continue reading
