VIEW holds Annual Membership Meeting

At VIEW’s annual membership meeting on Monday, August 25, Executive Director Jennifer Potter Hayes reported on the 63rd year of the arts center’s programming, finances and development efforts.

Fulton Chain of Lakes Association holds annual meeting at Woods Inn

The Fulton Chain of Lakes Association (FCLA) held its annual meeting at the Woods Inn in Inlet on Saturday, August 16 with more than 50 people in attendance. Prior to the meeting, attendees enjoyed a cookout and live music.

Featured at the meeting was a display describing FCLA’s efforts to maintain and improve the water quality and safety on the lakes.

Jim Murphy was presented with the “Outstanding Service Award” in appreciation of his service as president of the organization for the past four years.

Mike Schreppel was appointed to serve as current president.

Otter Lake Fire Department says thank you to all for raffle support

The Otter Lake Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary held its 30th Anniversary Truck Raffle on Sunday, August 31st.

The Steak Bake and Summer New Years’ Eve Party was well attended, and it gave everyone a chance to connect again one last time after a busy summer.

A silent auction was held with many great gifts donated by over 30 very generous businesses and individuals. Thank you to all who contributed. Continue reading

Inlet Police set prescription disposal day

The Town of Inlet Police Department will sponsor a prescription drug take-back day on Saturday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police station located at the Inlet Town Offices.

Residents are welcome to drop off their unwanted, unused or expired medications/prescriptions for safe and responsible disposal.

Kelley Szany joins fellowship program to strengthen anti-genocide initiatives

Kelley Szany, Director of Educational Outreach and Genocide Initiatives at Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, was recently accepted into the Carl Wilkens Fellowship program whereby, for the next year, she will work alongside national leaders to create and strengthen the permanent anti-genocide constituency in the state of Illinois.
