Red Hatters to Meet

Big Moose Ambulance Co. completes vehicle purchase
The Big Moose Ambulance Company’s multi-year project to raise funds to purchase a new ambulance was recently completed. BMAC applied $70,000 of its savings to the project and raised over $90,000 of new funds for the purchase.
The new PL Custom ambulance, a Ford F-450 4 X 4 chassis with a Gold Classic style body, was purchased from Specialty Vehicle Sales Corp. at a cost of over $150,000. It was delivered and put into service on December 16th. Continue reading
North Woods Lodge installs officers
North Woods Lodge #849 F&AM installed its officers for 2014–2015 at ceremonies held on Thursday, June 5 at the lodge located on Crosby Blvd. in Old Forge.
The ceremonies were preceded by a family covered dish supper with approximately 25 people in attendance.
W.B. Arthur Eyre served as a proxy during installation. Also assisting was RW Jon Server-Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of the State of New York for the 2nd Oneida District and Roman Hatheway Lodge.
Unable to attend were brothers: Scott Gaffney-Marshal, Justin Masters-JMC, Jim Pohl-Steward, Paul Thiebeau II-Steward and Don Park-Steward.
Inlet school sets graduation
Students at Inlet Common School will hold their spring concert and graduation ceremony on Monday, June 23rd.
The event will be held at St. Anthony’s Church Hall and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The concert will feature a performance by students in grades kindergarten through sixth followed by the graduation of three sixth graders who will be moving on to the Town of Webb School in the fall.
All are welcome to attend.
Webb Highway Dept. does major replacement
Town of Webb Highway Department personnel were busy this past week replacing an old culvert that runs along Railroad Ave., across from the former highway garage.
According to Highway Superintendent Casey Crofut, the 30-year-old culvert was beginning to show signs of deterioration and in the last year was periodically getting clogged. Continue reading
