High School senior, Tecwyn Williams, 17, has lived in Okara Lakes all his life, and in the fall he plans to attend Paul Smith’s College to study Fishery and Wildlife.

Freedom March to benefit Old Forge Legion Post and Wounded Warrior Projects
The 3rd Annual Freedom March of the Adirondacks will be held on Sunday, June 29th. The event includes a 13-mile walk from Inlet’s Fern Park to Van Auken’s Inne in Thendara and a 5K walk/run which will begin from Van Auken’s.
Proceeds of the march will benefit Old Forge American Legion Post 893 and local Wounded Warrior rehabilitation centers. Continue reading
Tiffany Outtrim to study at Mohawk Valley Community College
Town of Webb senior, Tiffany Outtrim, 18, moved to Old Forge from Constableville and began attending Town of Webb school in 2012.
In the fall, she plans to continue her education at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) where she said she will focus on Psychology, Sociology or possibly Maternity Nursing. Continue reading
VIEW: A Capella Choir to perform on Father’s Day
Tapestry, a Clinton-area a capella choir, will be performing in VIEW’s Gould Hall on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15 at 3 p.m.
Also known as ‘The All-Centuries Singers,’ the group features veteran singers from the Central New York area who have classical choral experience. They are under the direction of G. Roberts Kolb, D.M.A., Professor of Music at Hamilton College. Continue reading

Adirondack author to speak at Old Forge Library
Author Mary Sanders Shartle will discuss her book, The Truth and Legend of Lily Martindale: An Adirondack Novel, at the Old Forge Library on Tuesday, June 17 at 7 p.m.
Shartle, a poet, fiction, and essay writer, was awarded a 2007 individual artist’s grant from the New York State Council of the Arts to complete the book which is set in the fictional Adirondack town of Winslow Station. Continue reading
