Town of Webb senior, Tiffany Outtrim, 18, moved to Old Forge from Constableville and began attending Town of Webb school in 2012.
In the fall, she plans to continue her education at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) where she said she will focus on Psychology, Sociology or possibly Maternity Nursing.
The maternity nursing avenue appealed to her due to experiences involving her six-month-old boy, Keagan James Andrews.
“I really liked the nurses that were tending to our care; I think I also want to work with women and children who have been or are still being abused,” she said.
Tiffany played volleyball her junior year and also ran cross-country in eighth grade.
Sociology is her favorite class, she said.
“I find it really interesting to learn about other ethnic groups, and why people act the way they do,” she said.
“I’d have to say my favorite teacher is Mrs. Harwood, because she helps me out a lot. I find that she really listens to what I have to say.”
Tiffany is a member of chorus, with Ms. Gaudin. She was unable to arrange time her in schedule to participate in this year’s school play, but last year she played the role of a teenager in ‘Bye Bye Birdie.’
Outside of school, Tiffany said she is an avid runner and likes to stay in shape.
But most of her spare time is spent with her son, she said.
In the winter she enjoys snowmobiling with her father.
Her parents are Gary Outtrim and Tracy Hammond. Her mother helps in caring for Keagan. Her father is a carpenter and works in construction.
Tiffany has four siblings, Amanda Outtrim, 20, Tabitha Hammond, 24, Nicole Hammond, 25, and Lindsey McDougall, 30.
Tiffany is currently employed at Kinney Drugs as a Sales Associate.
“I really like my job; I enjoy chatting and I get to see new people every day.”
Tiffany said her sister Lindsey is one of the most important people in her life.
“She has always been there for me growing up and still continues to take care of me,” she said.
Lindsey and Tiffany shared the same hospital room; their boys were born a day apart.
“I’ve always looked up to her, and more now, since our sons are the same age. She helps me with everything,” Tiffany said.
Tiffany plans on commuting to college, so she’s not leaving Old Forge right away; but she does plan to leave at some point.
Her favorite high school memory was being part of last year’s Bye Bye Birdie production.
“It was my first play, and it was so much fun acting and performing in front of an audience,” she said.
