The 34th annual Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors at VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, will open with a reception on Friday, August 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The reception is free and open to the public and refreshments and light fare will be served.
This year’s exhibition features 86 works by 81 artists from across the United States and Canada, selected from a pool of over 400 submissions. Continue reading
The 7th annual Ice Cream Social, sponsored by the potters at VIEW, will take place on Friday, August 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Point Park in the center of Old Forge.
Hand-built ceramic bowls made by the potters can be purchased with ice cream provided by Mercer’s Dairy of Boonville. There will be a variety of ice cream available as well as sundaes. Continue reading
Karen Oberlin, an acclaimed singer of the Great American Song-book, will return to VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, for a performance on Saturday, August 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Oberlin, who frequently entertains at the Algonquin, Café Carlyle, Feinstein’s, and 54 Below in New York City, will include popular tunes sung by Doris Day at her VIEW performance. Continue reading

An opening reception for the 34th annual Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Water-colors will be held at VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, on Friday, August 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments and light fare will be specially prepared by Town of Webb graduate and executive sous chef of the Club at Olde Cyprus, Naples, FL, Justin Connerty.

Pastel artist Ingrid Van Slyke of Lake Placid and Big Moose will lead a two-day workshop, Exploring Pastels from Beginning to End, at VIEW on Monday and Tuesday, August 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Van Slyke’s pastel paintings have been juried into numerous national pastel exhibitions, including the Northeast National Pastel Exhibition at VIEW. Her subjects include figurative, landscape, and portraiture. She is a member of the Adirondack Pastel Society and the Pastel Society of America. Continue reading
Fieldstone Lodge
VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, offers a unique opportunity for the public to tour the interiors of some of the most fabulous camps on the Fulton Chain during its annual House Tour by Boat.
On Saturday, August 15, 20 party barges will depart at 10 a.m. from the Old Forge Lakefront to take passengers to get an exclusive look at the grounds and interiors of the camps that boaters usually only observe from the water. Continue reading
